Keep Busy with a Super Fun Word Search

Word searches are so much fun! Your child will have fun looking for all the fun July 4th words and will feel a sense of accomplishment once they find them all. Word searches are one of my kids favourite activities to do. If you’re having a party, you can print out a few copies and hand them out to all the kids or even to the adults. Or why not put all the kids into small teams and see which team can complete the word search first!

Word Scrambler for the 4th of July

Word scramblers are a great July 4th printable. They are full of fun words that need to be unscrambled. This is another fun activity that can be completed alone, in pairs, in a team….. the options are endless! You can have fun working on this with your kids. If you’re going to a party or barbecue, you can bring some copies to hand out to keep the kids busy. Or if you’re the one having the barbecue, you can make loot bags or gift bags and send home a copy with your guests as they leave.

Party Props Make Awesome Pictures!

The newest craze when you’re at a party are party props. They are so much fun and make your pictures awesome. It might bring out the wild child in you, to strike a pose, to have the funniest pictures with your friends and family.

So print out the July 4th printables for party props, find some goofy hats if you have any, maybe some boa scarfs or silly sunglasses and grab everyone for a great picture. Kids can also have fun with these props. My Kids adore taking pictures using party props and have some of those pictures hanging in their room as memories.

Bingo is a game loved by many. It’s a fun game to play at home on a rainy day, on a nice summer day, as a family, with friends or at a party. Playing traditional bingo where numbers are called out until someone wins is fun, but July 4th bingo is AWESOME! Instead of numbers, you will find pictures that reflect July 4th. Just have someone call out each picture and the players can cover them as they go. You can have 5 people play at once using 5 different bingo cards.

Your kids can enjoy the colouring pages, adults can or you can enjoy them with your children. Party props for pictures make great memories, they bring out the silly in some people! Word search and word scramblers are fun and make you feel so good when you find the answers. And they fact that they are all about July 4th make them all that much funner!

They are Good Teachable Activities

What’s super great about all these July 4th Printables is that kids think they are all about having fun, which they are. However, they can also be good learning activities for kids. Colouring teaches dexterity in younger children and also can teach them about different colours.

Word searches are great for teaching children how to spell since they have to search within a bunch of different letters for the correct word. Word Scramblers are very similar, in that kids need to look at a word that is all mixed up and then unscramble the letters to make a July 4th themed word.

They Can be Used All Year Round

Although these are July 4th Printables, your kids can enjoy them all year round. The bingo cards can be laminated or kept in a binder to be sure that they don’t get ripped or wrinkled. You can print out extra copies of the word search and word scrambler or even laminate them and then just erase the answers once done. Party Props are always great for a picture perfect photo session.

How to Enjoy the July 4th Printables

Colouring doesn’t need much of an explanation for kids. Just sit them down at the table with the colouring pages, some markers, crayons or pencil crayons and let them have fun and let the artist come out in them! They can colour alone or if you’re having a party or barbecue to celebrate, they can colour with other kids that are present.

The word search will need to be printed out and then once done, all the words listed on the bottom will need to be found within the jumble of letters in the word search. A good strategy is to look for the first letter of the word and see if that first letter forms the word. The word search is fun to do in teams or pairs and you can make it fun by offering a small prize for the winning team.

Who loves bingo!? Print out the bingo sheets and get a group or groups together to play. There are 5 different bingo cards, so you can have 5 people play at a time or make groups of 5 and then the first group to get a bingo, wins!

Word scramblers are great July 4th printables and so much fun. You can cheer your child on every time they unscramble a word. Each line has a bunch of letters mixed up and the goal is to figure out what the word is when unscrambled. Have your child write the word on the line once they guess. This is an activity that can also be completed on their own, with friends or in a team.

July 4th Bingo Games

What You Should Have on Hand for July 4th Printables

Not many things are required for most of the July 4th printables. The activity that requires the most is probably the party props, since these need to be put together. Below you will find a list of articles that you should have ready.

  • Have a great printer. You will need to print out all the Fourth of July worksheets and since most of them are coloured in red, white and blue, having a good quality colour printer would be best to show your patriotic colours!
  • Card Stock paper rather than regular printer paper is best, especially for printing out the party props, since it’s a thicker paper and won’t wrinkle as easily. Card stock paper can be used for all the Fourth of July worksheets, but definitely for the party props.
  • You will need Wax Crayons, Markers or Pencil Crayons for the colouring pages. Any option works and they can also be used for the word search and word scrambler games, instead of using a pencil.
  • If you want to keep your July 4th Printables in great condition, you can purchase some self Laminating Sheets which are easy to use. They will plasticize your activity worksheets so that they do not get ruined.
  • For the July 4th party props specifically, I used Wooden Dowels for Crafts. I found they were a great choice since they are nice and sturdy and will hold up your pictures well. You can make it fun for the kids by having them paint the wooden dowels in any colour they like using Acrylic Paint Pens. You can also use Straws to tape to the back of the Fourth of July party props, either buy a small pack or if you have any lying around the house, that would work also.
  • For the bingo game, use some Bingo Stampers for Kids. The good thing about these is that most of them are washable. Do you want to make the game more exciting for those playing? Get some M&M’s and use those to cover the pictures as they are called out, rather than using bingo stampers.
