How A Budget Printable Worksheet Can Help
Having some guidance when it comes to making a budget can be really helpful. That’s where using a budget printable worksheet comes in handy.
It Can Help Guide You To Saving Money
If you’re moving out on your own for the very first time, you might not realize how expensive reality is and all the payments that can be required. You might have gotten some practice in paying bills if you’re young and have a credit card or a cellphone payment to make. But those are minimal payments. Using budget printable sheets, you can write down all the new payments you have to make and then save any money that is left over, if any.
Expense Planners Can Help Track Money
These days, we can buy items in so many different ways. Using cash, using a credit card or using your bank card. Sometimes because of this, it makes it difficult to know where your money is going. Add on top of that the options of where to shop, whether it be in store or online. An expense planner keeps all your purchases logged in one place.
Budget Planners Can Help Save For A Vacation
Since you will be writing down all your expenses on the planner, you will know if you have any money left over after each month and if so, you can save that money for a vacation you might be wanting to take. You can also include a line for vacation in your expenses, so that every month you have a designated amount set aside specifically for a vacation.
Not into travelling? Use those extra saved dollars for whatever you’re dreaming about. Perhaps it’s a new car or a fancy new outfit.
How To Use The Budget Printable Worksheet
A budget printable worksheet can help with many things, in tracking money and saving money. You might prefer something different than the next person, so I’ve provided a couple of options.
Using A Complete Budget Printable Worksheet
So if you’re relatively new to renting or you just bought your first house, you might not realize how many expenses you actually have. By having them already written down for you, it could help so that you don’t miss something. You could just plug in the amounts for every line and then do your calculations. Don’t worry about leaving some lines blank if you don’t have those expenses.
Use A Blank Budget Planner
You might prefer to start with a blank budget printable worksheet. You can include your own fixed expenses and any other expenses you might have. With this printable, you can customize it to the way you like.
An expense tracker is a great planning tool. You can keep track of all the purchases you make and that way you will know how much you’re spending in a month. You can include all purchases that are outside of your normal fixed expenses or include them all.

What To Use The Budget Printable Worksheet For
Keeping a budget is a great idea. You might keep track of all your expenses in your head, but seeing them written down really puts everything into perspective. It makes it way easier to save money and not overspend.
There is certain information you need to include on your budget planner. At the top under income, you need to include all the money you made for the month. If you have multiple jobs or income sources, then you can include each on it’s own separate line. Add up all your income and then also include that amount in the Totals box under Total Income.
Your fixed expenses are all your necessary expenses. These would include things like rent or mortgage, your utilities like electricity. If you have a car, you would include your car payment, gas, car insurance and licence and registration. If you don’t drive, you would leave those lines blank and you would include any amount you spend on transportation, like taking a bus or train.
Your other expenses are all things that you spend money on during the month, but that are not necessarily required. So in other words, they’re items you can basically live without. Once you’ve added in all your other monthly expenses to your budget printable worksheet, add the total expenses on the right hand side under your total income and find the difference. The difference will let you know if you have additional money left for the month or if you’ve spent more than you earned.
In the Fixed Expenses section of the budget printable worksheet, I’ve included debt repayment, savings and investments. These are 3 very important categories, since it is always good to put some savings aside for a rainy day, even if it is only $5.00 a month. If at the end of all your monthly expenses, you have money left over, then you can include that extra amount in to your savings.
If you have a negative total once everything is calculated, then you are overspending for the amount you make in the month. This is where you can look through your other expenses and either remove stuff or move amounts around. For example, if you get your nails done every month or you go golfing every month, well these are things that can be removed so that you can save that extra money.

The expense tracker can be used to keep track of all your purchases that might or might not be on your budget planner worksheet. I would suggest keeping your receipts or bills and writing down the amount on your expense tracker. At the end of each month, add everything up and you will know exactly where you are spending all your money.
It’s also handy to know if you’re spending more or less than something you budgeted for. For example, if you budgeted $400 a month for groceries, the expense tracker will allow you to know if you spent more than that amount or less. You can then adjust your fixed amount for the next month.
